Airvine University Video Series
Session 2 – Episode 3 (3:25 min.)
Chapter 3 in Airvine University Applications covers hospitality and again, hospitality may seem similar to the MDU or even a little bit similar to the senior living facility.
But there are unique requirements when to consider [when] you’re in a hotel or a condo complex or townhomes, where you have temporary people moving in and out on a daily basis.
As in other use cases, the hospitality industry is being driven–the networks in the hospitality industry are being driven to support new applications and new features that they were never originally designed for.
The upgrade in the hospitality and digital experience includes smart door locks that you can open with your phone, persona-based sensor configurations that can detect who you are, turn the TV to the channel you like, adjust the temperature to a temperature that you like. In the public areas, there’s physical security with cameras and sensors to ensure guest security and safety. And there may be temporary conferences where you have cordless point-of-sale systems for conferences or shows that you may be hosting as well. In addition, the garage.
A guest today in a hotel has at least 2-3, sometimes four different devices that they’re connecting to that Wi-Fi network. Augmented reality and virtual reality in particular, with strains on those networks that they were never originally designed for.
So how are you going to update that backbone, that wired Ethernet backbone, that legacy backbone that just isn’t able to do what it needs to do today? Well, you can run new cable, you can install conduit. You can put the cable in, you can hide it behind the walls. And you can do those construction projects with the permits and the scheduling and the multiple teams that will take you weeks to accomplish all the while you’ve closed down that floor and you’re not generating revenue.
Or you can contact Airvine with our WaveTunnel system and we can upgrade that backbone in days or weeks for the entire property. And all of these services are running on the very secure triple layer security from VineOS, supporting the wave tunnel system. The legacy systems that have been deployed in the hotels over the last 20 years are nowhere near capable of supporting all of these applications and use cases.
But you cannot take down the entire hotel or block off a floor while you run new cable and install conduit, etc. With the WaveTunnel system you can do this construction. You can upgrade the backbone for all these new use cases that the hotels are seeing, and you can do it quickly and unobtrusively. In addition, as always, the WaveTunnel network as we’ve mentioned is highly secure with our triple-layer security system.
So if you’re a hotel owner, or if you’re managing a hotel and you’d like to learn how to upgrade your backbone that you can support all these new applications and uses that your guests are demanding, click on the link below and we’ll show you how.
