The WaveCore Flex complements the original WaveCore, which penetrates thick concrete floors and walls in the interior, to lower the cost of roof-to-indoor, building-to-building and indoor-to-outdoor connectivity

For instance, for satellite dish and FWA applications, a WaveCore Flex radio can be installed on the roof next to the dish or FWA receive antenna and point down through the roof to connect to an inside WaveCore Flex, which then connects to a switch which connects to the indoor network. In this example, there is no need to drill through the watertight roof membrane, risking future leaks, you just connect with the WaveCore Flex and move on.

An example of an indoor-to-outdoor installation could be an MDU complex, where the main residential building has a WaveCore Flex installed near an exterior wall (and connected to an MDF) and pointed outside to another WaveCore Flex installed on an outside wall or on the roof of an adjacent building . Another useful application here is connecting the WaveCore Flex to Wi-Fi APs located throughout the grounds.

When inter-building connectivity is needed as part of a private network configuration, the WaveCore Flex radios are installed inside near an exterior wall of both adjacent buildings and pointed at each other. Unlike every other PTP system today that connects buildings, a WaveCore Flex deployment never goes outdoors. Therefore, no weatherproof housing is required and neither is trenching to lay a cable between the buildings – merely “plug in and point” to establish a high-speed connection.
Airvine is now taking orders for the WaveCore Flex and it will be generally available in September 2025. Select customers and partners have been trialing the system since March 2025. Airvine will present a webinar on August 12, 2025 about the design and applications of the WaveCore Flex.
“Running cable or fiber optic cable to and from terminals/devices on the roof to the networking equipment inside the building has always been the most time consuming and laborious part of our deployments,” said Mehdi Louidani, President – Managed Services at Allstate Wireless.
“There are layout and weatherproofing considerations and sometimes we even have to cut a hole in the roof to do this. The Airvine system is the proverbial game changer when it comes to us gaining easier and quicker access into our customers’ facilities.”
“Airvine has developed a compelling value proposition for property owners and managers, MSPs and all those confronting industrial, enterprise and campus deployments where traditional cabling remains a bottleneck for reasons of cost or logistics,” said Shiv Putcha, Founder and Principal Analyst of Mandala Insights. “Delivering ubiquitous broadband indoor connectivity has faced a number of challenges, none more challenging than getting a signal through concrete walls and barriers. Airvine’s WaveCore technology addresses this problem, delivering multi-gigabit wireless connectivity through walls, ceilings, and even roofs—without drilling, trenching or laying long cable runs.”
“We believe the (WaveCore) Flex is the final piece of the backhaul puzzle to establish pervasive, enterprise- or campus-wide connectivity on a cost-effective basis,” said David Sumi, CEO of Airvine.
“We have proven for three years now, since the launch of the WaveTunnel, that it is possible to save a lot of money and time by eliminating the need for drilling, running cable in elevator risers and other troublesome tasks inside buildings. The WaveCore solved the concrete barrier problem and now the WaveCore Flex brings the outside-to-inside capability into the equation.”
Like the WaveCore, the WaveCore Flex is a PTP (point-to-point) layer 2 Ethernet bridge that operates on PoE (power over Ethernet) or a 12V DC input and operates with two nodes, measuring 10.1” x 2.7” x 10.3”, that, as noted above, are installed in a variety of configurations. All Airvine products are managed by the AI-powered VineSuite software platform, which facilitates network set-up and operation.
